General Information

The fresh breeze and mist from the Pacific, located just 10 kilometers away, provide the Doña Margarita vineyard with the ideal climatic conditions for cultivating pinot noir, which forms the base of Mas Cavalls Pinot Noir 2018, an aromatic single-varietal wine from Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery that surprises with its complexity and fleshy palate.

From the Californian region of Sonoma Coast, this red wine is rounded, balanced, and features firm tannins, having undergone 10 months of aging in high-quality oak barrels from the coopers Remond, from the Bertranges forest, and Marchive and Rousseau from central France. Its organoleptic qualities make Mas Cavalls Pinot Noir 2018 an excellent choice to pair with roasted chicken or duck, fish like salmon or tuna, and even spicy and flavorful dishes.

Tasting notes

In the olfactory phase, pleasant aromas of raspberry jam, blueberries, and cassis dominate, over a background of undergrowth with hints of clove and anise.

Round and complex on the palate. Balanced with firm tannins that promise a long life.

The winery

Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery is the Californian winery of the Torres family, a renowned dynasty with a long winemaking tradition present in a significant number of Spanish appellations of origin (Penedès, Catalunya, Costers del Segre, Conca de Barberà, Priorat, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, Rías Baixas, and Rioja) and in Chile since 1979.

The company began its journey in 1986 under the leadership of Marimar Torres, with the planting of the first 24 hectares of vineyards in the western hills of Sonoma County. Currently, Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery manages over 100 hectares, certified organic, spread across the American Viticultural Areas (AVA) of Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast, with chardonnay, pinot noir, and albariño as the predominant varieties. The Californian wines of the Torres family are distinguished by their pronounced European style. Complex, expressive, and elegant, they have earned prestige both in the U.S. market and internationally.
