Markus Molitor Haus Klosterberg Pinot Blanc 2021 is born from exceptional vineyards cultivated on slate soils with slopes of up to 80% inclination. These vines, located at different points along the banks of the Mosel River, offer a high-quality pinot blanc whose qualities are carefully preserved from the very moment of harvest, which the winery opts to perform manually during the month of October. For its production, the grapes transported to the winery undergo a gentle pressing and macerate for several hours with their skins. After maceration, the must ferments with natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels. Finally, the wine undergoes aging on lees for nine months, resulting in a fruity and well-balanced wine.
Markus Molitor is the story of a young winemaker who took over his father's winery in 1984 at the young age of 20. Despite his limited experience, Markus led a firm with a great family tradition that has been responsible for producing some of the best Rieslings from the Mosel River. An area with a special microclimate, settled on slate soils that provide excellent mineral nuances and achieve great whites like this Haus Klosterberg Pinot Blanc 2021.
