General Information

Lustau Pedro Ximénez Murillo Selección Centenario is a wine bottled in homage to the centenary of the winery, in the year 1996. Coming from a selection of barrels meticulously carried out by the winery's foreman, Juan Fuentes, this PX owes its name to the Murillo winery, where its solera aged.

Bodegas Lustau is one of the most internationally renowned Sherry producers. The exceptional quality of its products and its long history have made Lustau one of the most awarded wineries worldwide, with important accolades such as the Len Evans Trophy for Quality and Consistency awarded at the prestigious International Wine Challenge, in 2011 and 2016.

Lustau PX Murillo (D.O. Jerez) is a dessert in itself, but it also pairs perfectly with a cheese board (especially blue cheeses), drizzled over vanilla ice cream, or to accompany chocolate cakes and pastries.

Tasting notes

In appearance, it has a very dark and deep ebony color.

On the nose, it stands out with aromas of ripe fruit, preserves, and dried plums over a background of licorice and molasses.

On the palate, it is very sweet and velvety. Balanced, with a very long finish where the fruit notes found on the nose reappear.

The winery

The Lustau Fine Selected Wines winery was founded in 1896, and during the last quarter of a century, it has been dedicated to aging, producing, and marketing high-quality wines, brandies, and vinegars from Jerez. This historic winery in the Jerez region, with a presence in the three areas that make up this region (Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, and Sanlúcar de Barrameda), has specialized in the Premium segment, positioning itself in the best restaurants and wine shops across the five continents. It has achieved this not only due to the quality of its wines but also thanks to the global recognition garnered in various international competitions. Lustau currently belongs to Grupo Caballero and boasts the widest range of Jerez and Manzanilla wines in its portfolio, producing over forty wines aged in the three cities that form the framework of this Denomination of Origin. To achieve this, it offers different ranges, with highlights including the "Solera Reserva," composed of wines aged directly by Lustau in its cellars, and the "Almacenista," made up of small independent winemakers whose wines are marketed by LUSTAU.

From the moment the grapes are born in their vineyards "Montegilillo" and "Las Cruces" until their wines are bottled, the process is slow and meticulous. In between lies the vinification and the fundamental step, the aging in the cellar using the unique solera and criaderas system. This is what gives Jerez wines their true character and personality and ensures a consistent quality over time.

Lustau distances itself from large sales volumes and mass production, always prioritizing quality above all else. Its commercial activity is predominantly export-oriented, with the North American market standing out above the rest. In recent years, Lustau has made a commitment to the Spanish market, and its wines can now be found in the best wine shops, stores, and wine clubs.
