General Information

Los Loros Listán Negro 2022 represents one of the most notable novelties from the Bodega Juan Francisco Fariña Pérez, a benchmark in the D.O. Valle de Güímar. With this red wine, dominated by the native listán negro variety, the house based in the Tenerife municipality of Arafo showcases the same mastery as in their appreciated whites.

The key lies in the origin of the grapes, a mix of low-yielding plots and different soils, located at an altitude of between 700 and 1300 meters above sea level, and in its meticulous artisanal production, which included the pressing of whole clusters and 4 months of aging in used 225-liter barrels. Los Loros Listán Negro 2022 is ideal for those who want to discover the attractive new-generation Canary red wines.

Creators' opinion

The winery

The El Borujo estate, located in the municipality of Arafo in Tenerife, at an altitude of between 750 and 800 meters above sea level, is home to the vineyard owned by Bodega Juan Francisco Fariña Pérez, a family-run winery founded in 1999.

The winery produces handcrafted wines under the D.O. Valle de Güímar, which perfectly express the native grape varieties (listán blanco, marmajuelo, albillo criollo, gual, moscatel, or vijariego blanco), the climate, and the terroir of this area of the Canary Islands.
