General Information

Loess Essence Crianza 2023 is much more than a wine: it is a statement of style and personality. It is born in selected vineyards of Ribera del Duero and made with the tempranillo variety in its purest form, offering a sensory experience that captivates from the first sip. Its elegant character and firm structure make it a must-have for wine lovers with soul.

Behind this gem is Bodegas Loess, a project that combines tradition and innovation to create unique wines. Their vineyards, located in privileged areas, are cultivated with extreme care to ensure the highest quality. Each bottle reflects the winery's commitment to excellence and passion for the land.

The winemaking process begins with manual harvesting and a meticulous selection of the best grapes. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels, achieving a perfect balance between fruit and the nuances of the wood. The result is a sophisticated crianza, full of nuances and with an overwhelming personality.

It is a red wine ideal to pair with dishes such as baked cod with tomato or Iberian pork shoulder.

Tasting notes

In the glass, Loess Essence Crianza displays an intense red color with garnet reflections.

On the nose, aromas of ripe black fruits intertwine with spicy notes and delicate toasted touches.

On the palate, it is broad, silky, and persistent, with polished tannins and a long, enveloping finish.

The winery

Loess Vinos S.L.

The history of Loess Vinos S.L. dates back to 2001, when the founders acquired 6 vineyards in the area of Roa (Burgos). These are tempranillo vines planted in 1998 on 6 soils classified as Excellent in the zoning carried out by the Polytechnic University of Madrid for the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. They cover an area of 27.6 hectares. In 2004, they produced their first wines and, in light of the excellent results, decided to expand their scope to the neighboring D.O. Rueda, where they produce verdejo whites.

Jaime Saiz de la Hoya Zamácola is the winery's manager, who also takes part in the wine design alongside the renowned winemaker Isaac Fernández Montaña.

Loess Vinos S.L. currently exports to Canada, the United States, Colombia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Andorra, Poland, Romania, China, Japan, Ireland, and South Korea.
