The arrival of El Loco de Finca La Colina 2025 reaffirms the innovative character with which Vinos Sanz expands its historic Finca La Colina range. Designed as a fresh, luminous, and daring white, this vintage maintains the blend of Verdejo and a small percentage of Sauvignon Blanc, a combination crafted to enhance the wine’s most youthful and expressive side. The grapes that produce El Loco de Finca La Colina 2025 come from Finca La Colina, one of the oldest and most distinctive vineyards in La Seca. Nearly 40 years old, these vines grow on poor soils with little organic matter and are covered with rounded stones, cultivated in rigorous dry farming. This natural balance between altitude, vineyard age, and the rustic terrain allows the Verdejo to showcase an intense and authentic personality. The winery maintains meticulous vineyard management to ensure the freshness and expressiveness that define each vintage of the wine.
Vinos Sanz, the oldest winery in the Rueda region, has built its prestige on a deep respect for Verdejo and a track record marked by quality and consistency. Its philosophy is based on the strong conviction that the best wine is born in the vineyard, and this principle is reflected throughout the Finca La Colina range.
With decades of experience and international recognition, the winery continues to produce wines that combine authenticity and character, and El Loco de Finca La Colina 2025 fits into this tradition as an example of freshness, identity, and contemporary vision.
In addition to being the oldest winery in Rueda, Vinos Sanz is an essential name to understand the enormous development that this Castilian-Leonese denomination has experienced in recent decades. Founded in 1870 in La Seca (Valladolid), it was the first winery to unconditionally bet on verdejo, today considered one of the best white grape varieties in the world. Currently, the winery is managed by the sixth generation of the family and is in the midst of a commercial expansion process to conquer new markets.
Vinos Sanz bases its philosophy on preserving the maximum expression of the vineyard and meticulously caring for the winemaking process. In addition to verdejo, the undisputed queen of Rueda, the winery also cultivates sauvignon blanc – the second most important variety in the area – across its more than 100 hectares of vineyards, mostly located in Finca La Colina. This plot, with unbeatable conditions for grape growing, produces the raw material for two of the best white wines made in this country: Finca La Colina 100 x 100 Verdejo and Finca La Colina Sauvignon Blanc.
