Legaris Alcubilla de Avellaneda 2019 is a red wine that comes from a plot on the top of a hillside, at an altitude of 926 meters, in the town of Alcubilla de Avellaneda in Soria, planted with tinto fino (tempranillo) vines. In this plot, there is a vineyard cultivated on clay soils with great water retention capacity and high iron concentration. Under these conditions, the grape that gives rise to Legaris Alcubilla de Avellaneda is born, a structured, aromatic, and elegant wine.
Legaris is one of the most modern and innovative wineries in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. A brand that began its construction in 1999 to be a benchmark of integration between the environment and the vineyard. It extends over 100 hectares of its own vineyard where it cultivates the queen variety of Ribera, the tempranillo grape, accompanied by the French-origin variety cabernet sauvignon. The care of the raw material and their winemaking work have earned them the ability to produce wines that express the unique character of the area. A good example of this is this Sorian wine, as exceptional and elegant as it is peculiar.
With a limited production, the vinification of this tempranillo from the D.O. Ribera del Duero stands out for an alcoholic fermentation produced in a small stainless steel truncated cone-shaped tank. The intervention of the winery is minimal, as the aim is to preserve the uniqueness and expression of the grape. After malolactic fermentation, the aging of the wine begins in French oak barrels for 15 months. Finally, this unfiltered and unclarified elaboration achieves a very special profile: freshness and florality go hand in hand.
Legaris Alcubilla de Avellaneda 2019 is an ideal red wine to accompany all kinds of fish dishes such as bouillabaisse, marmitako, and stews. It is also a good companion for meats with béchamel, flavorful meats like duck, and dishes with all kinds of sweet and sour ‘Thai’ sauces.
Intense color of ripe cherry with a dark violet rim, dense and with a high layer.
