La Val Albariño 2023 is a 'must' for white wine lovers. Created by a pioneering winery in the D.O. Rías Baixas, this single-varietal wine is made from albariño grapes sourced from three estates with very different soils: the granite of Taboexa contributed its acidity to the wine, the alluvium and pebbles of Arantei and Porto enhanced its fruitiness, and the schist of Vilachán gave it its mineral character. Excellent varietal character.

La Val 2023 is a delicious coupage made from albariño grapes from three estates located in the Condado de Tea subzone: Taboexa and Arantei, situated just a few meters above sea level. These parcels, with very different soils, contributed great complexity to the wine, making it a tasty white that offers high doses of freshness and vivacity, filling the palate with citrus notes and ending with a long saline and mineral finish.
When José Limeres Guille decided to create Bodegas La Val in 1985, the production of albariño in Galicia was almost entirely dominated by homemade experiments. Only a handful of visionaries like him believed in the potential of this grape, which is now one of the most important varieties in the country. Bodegas La Val promoted the creation of the D.O. Rías Baixas and has established itself as a benchmark in this region.
Intense straw yellow color with bright green flashes, very clean and striking. Intense Atlantic aromas of fresh herbs and laurels. Subtle floral and citrus notes and pleasant memories of white and stewed fruits. On the palate, it is all freshness and tastiness, filling the mouth with citrus notes and ending with a long saline and mineral finish.
Founded in 1985, La Val was one of the first brands of the D.O. Rías Baixas and one of the pioneering wineries to recognize the potential of the albariño grape. Its first step was the acquisition of the La Val estate (O Rosal), on the banks of the Miño River. From there, it expanded its vineyard by seeking high-quality land to start new plantations.
In 2003, it moved its production to the Arantei Estate, located in the heart of Condado de Tea, where it built new and modern facilities surrounded by 35 hectares of vineyards with an average age of 30 years. In a region dominated by smallholdings, La Val is one of the wineries with the most owned vineyards in the D.O. Rías Baixas, with 53 hectares spread across different estates.
