L´equilibrista Garnatxa 2018 is a single-variety red wine produced by the winery Ca N´Estruc in the Barcelona region of Esparraguera (D.O. Catalunya). One of the most representative reds of the Catalan brand, the result of a thorough selection of grapes from 50-year-old vines. After aging for 14 months in French Allier oak tronco-conical tanks, this suggestive wine presents itself as both mature and fresh, with aromas of red and black fruit and a seductive palate with pleasant tannins. Long, persistent, and lasting finish.

A meticulous selection of garnacha, sourced 70% from our own vineyards and 30% from controlled plots of other growers in the region, is the key to the personality of the attractive red L’Equilibrista Garnatxa 2018. These vineyards, cultivated organically, are located at 165 meters altitude on the slopes of Montserrat mountain, on alluvial, clay-limestone soils with gravel presence.
The production of L’Equilibrista Garnatxa began with manual harvesting and a rigorous selection of the fruits in the vineyard. Once in the winery, after destemming, fermentation started in 100 hl stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with the presence of native yeasts and daily pump-overs. Subsequently, the tank was transferred for spontaneous malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, at 18-20 °C. The wine obtained was aged for 14 months in French Allier oak tronco-conical vats. The result is a 100% garnacha red that is intense, suggestive, fresh, and balanced.
Ca N’Estruc, a pioneering Catalan family winery in the Denomination of Origin Catalunya, is located on an estate dating back to 1574 on the slopes of Montserrat mountain, in the Barcelona municipality of Esparreguera. Currently, the winery is managed by Francisco Martí, with the collaboration of his daughter Anna. The Martí family and their team produce high-quality wines through organic viticulture and, since 2012, following the principles of biodynamics.
L’Equilibrista Garnatxa 2018 has received praise from specialized critics such as 92 Parker points, 92 points in the Guía Peñín, and 90 points from Tim Atkin. This red, under the D.O. Catalunya, is ideal to accompany risottos, Iberian cold cuts, stewed meats with light sauces, and soft, creamy goat or sheep cheeses.
L'Equilibrista Garnatxa tiene un intenso y sugerente color rojo granate, poco cubierto. En nariz se presenta maduro y fresco a la vez, con recuerdos de fruta roja como la fresa y la granada y frutos negros como las moras, acompañadas de apuntes lácteos y notas de garriga mediterránea. En boca deja unas sensaciones muy fluidas y seductoras, como un puñado de deliciosas frutas rojas, con toques de caja de puros. Destaca la frescura y la presencia de un buen tapiz de taninos que dejan un final de boca largo, placentero y perfumado.
