El Aguilón, Las Carretillas, El Jarro, and Barco del Perro are the plots that make up the 11 hectares of vineyard, at 750 meters above sea level, where Granza Rosado Ecológico 2023 is born. This rosé is the result of a blend of tempranillo, garnacha, verdejo, and viura cultivated organically and harvested manually during the month of September. For its vinification, alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature of 26ºC, lasting for 10-14 days. The result is a young, fresh rosé with very good acidity, which gives it great versatility.
The winemaker Carlos Moro founded the group Bodegas Familiares Matarromera in 1988. Currently, more than three decades later, it is one of the giants of the Spanish wine sector, with several wineries spread across different geographical areas near the Duero River, including Bodegas Granza.
With a limited production of 30,000 bottles, this completely natural and high-quality rosé belongs to the D.O. Cigales. Granza Rosado Ecológico 2023 offers maximum respect for varietal aromas and the flavors of the land, demonstrating its great authenticity.
Following the winemaking tradition of his Castilian ancestors, Carlos Moro founded the Matarromera winery in Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid) in 1988 with a clear objective: to create quality wines using the most advanced technology while respecting traditional winemaking methods.
The main challenge undertaken by Carlos Moro was his commitment to new barrels for aging his wines, an initiative that was novel at the time in Ribera del Duero. Another key to Matarromera's success lies in its excellent vineyards, located in a legendary area of the D.O. Ribera del Duero: Valbuena de Duero.
In recent years, the Granza label has been chosen by Bodegas Familiares Matarromera to honor traditional farming practices. It refers to the residues (grain, long straw, husks, etc.) left from wheat and other seeds like barley when winnowed and sifted. This label represents the group's most natural wines, all of which are gluten-free and ideal for vegan consumers.
