Gramona Argent Rosé Ecológico is a refined Brut Nature rosé sparkling wine made from pinot noir with a small contribution of chardonnay, two of the finest and most aromatic French-origin grape varieties. The Catalan house Gramona, one of Spain's leading specialists in sparkling wines, demonstrates its excellence in this magnificent organic wine certified by the CORPINNAT seal.
After the manual selection of the best bunches from the vineyards of Mas Escorpí, cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic viticulture, the grapes are pressed, extracting only 50% of the juice. This must ferments in French oak barrels of 600 and 300 liters at a controlled temperature of 14ºC. Subsequently, the sparkling wine undergoes an aging process on lees for at least 30 months. This is precisely one of the distinctive features of the Barcelona-based winery Bodegas Gramona, which subjects its sparkling wines to long aging periods, following the French champagne style. The result is excellent: a balance between the expressiveness of the pinot noir, its characteristic rosé hue, and the appropriate tannic intensity.
Approaching its 140th anniversary, Bodegas Gramona remains one of the national benchmarks in sparkling wine production. These wines are featured annually on the lists of the best-rated wines, such as this Gramona Argent Rosé Ecológico, the ideal choice to pair with any Mediterranean cuisine dish, all kinds of appetizers, or culinary creations in the oriental, Thai, or Caribbean style, rich in spices.
Its appearance surprises with its old gold color with onion skin tones.
Notable subtlety and complexity on the nose. Initially, floral aromas (rose and violet petals) and red fruits (blueberries, wild strawberries, currants) stand out, followed by hints of grapefruit and herbal touches reminiscent of fennel and fresh grass. Subsequently, the aging notes appear (butter, puff pastry, custard, and a touch of vanilla).
Very fresh entry on the palate and good structure. The crisp and integrated carbonic blends harmoniously with sustained acidity, leading to a subtle mineral finish that completes the ensemble.
The Gramona family represents five generations of winemakers. Since the mid-19th century, they have been working their lands in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia (Barcelona), and today they produce sparkling wines under the prestigious Corpinnat quality label, as well as still wines under the umbrella of the D.O. Penedès. Few wineries have made such significant contributions in recent years to elevate Spanish sparkling wines to the level of the great champagnes.
The sparkling wines of Gramona, crafted by Jaume Gramona, one of the foremost experts on bubbles in our country, achieve remarkable levels of elegance and are characterized by their extended aging periods. These sparkling wines, which garner prestigious international accolades, are made following artisanal processes: natural cork stoppers during aging, riddling racks for clarification, and manual disgorgement.
The Gramona family operates under a biodynamic philosophy across approximately 303 hectares. Of these, 72 hectares are owned by the family, while the rest come from Aliances per la Terra, a viticulturist association founded in 2015 and led by Gramona, which adheres to environmentally respectful practices. In 2014, Gramona obtained the Demeter certification, which guarantees biodynamic farming and winemaking for each wine. A few years later, in 2018, it became the first winery on the Peninsula to receive the BIODYVIN biodynamic certification. The Biodyvin label is a highly demanding certification, specific to the wine sector worldwide, and certifies biodynamic practices in both viticulture and winemaking (winery).
