The Garcías have carved out a position for their Monteabellón winery in little more than two decades. The key to their success is their superb high-altitude vineyard in Nava de Roa (Burgos) and their huge expertise dealing with terroirs, as the family have been cultivating grapes for generations. Monteabellón 14 Meses 2021 comes from an Excellent-rated vintage. This Tempranillo was grown on high-lying organically farmed vineyards and was aged for 14 months in oak. A Ribera with lots of personality and an excellent future ahead of it.

Some parts of Denominaciones are more sought after than others. In Ribera del Duero, La Horra (Burgos) has become one of those highly coveted areas over the past decade. Bodegas y Viñedos Neo is one of the firms lucky enough to own vineyards here. And we’ve been privileged for yet another year to have them make a wine exclusively for us from their excellent old vineyards in La Horra. It’s been aged for 14 months in oak.
