Finca CQ 2024 is a limited-edition red wine (2769 bottles) framed within the Bruma del Estrecho project. A red wine that offers a very vigorous, fresh, and balanced Monastrell, aged for 7 months in French oak barrels, and stands out for its fruity notes and expressiveness, with hints of licorice and wildflowers. A great representative of the D.O. Jumilla.

The initials of Finca CQ 2024 refer to Casa Quemada, an estate located in the municipal area of Arriba de Jumilla, at more than 700 meters above sea level. A 47-hectare plot planted with monastrell vines, over 30 years old, which is the origin of this red wine made entirely from the flagship variety of the D.O.P. Jumilla.

Bodegas Viña Elena was founded by Francisco Pacheco in 1948, when he started making wine with a press in the cellar of his home. This family project began around the monastrell grape of Jumilla. His granddaughter, Elena Pacheco (3rd generation), took over with the launch of a new brand called ‘Bruma del Estrecho’, which aims to highlight the monastrell grape variety in the southern part of the Jumilla Designation of Origin.

The winemaking process for the young red Finca CQ 2024 involved a mixed maceration of 18 days in stainless steel, a malolactic fermentation in 500-liter French oak barrels, and an additional 7 months of aging in the same barrels. The result is a red wine from the D.O. Jumilla that is silky yet full-bodied, with a warm, fruity, and expressive profile that makes it ideal to pair with a wide variety of dishes due to its versatility. It can be paired with meats or fish dishes accompanied by any type of sauce. It is also perfect for tapas and informal dining occasions.

Tasting notes

In appearance, it shows a medium-intensity carmine color.

On the nose, the wine is complex, with aromas of red fruit and slight notes of pine and Mediterranean herbs such as esparto and rosemary.

On the palate, it reveals plenty of fruit, silkiness, and delicacy. A balanced wine, with body and a fairly long finish.

The winery

Viña Elena, a winery founded in 1948, has evolved in terms of technology while maintaining respect for heritage and family tradition. A firm that operates with the experience of 4 generations in constant evolution. Currently, this winery is led by Elena Pacheco, who, together with her friend Isio Ramos, has launched the project Bruma del Estrecho de Marín, conceived to produce single-vineyard wines with the monastrell variety.
Viña Elena has a total of 400 hectares of vineyards, 100 of which are owned by the winery. Additionally, the winery has expanded its product range to include extra virgin olive oil and almonds from its own production. In this way, alongside the vineyards, it completes the “trilogy” of traditional farming in the Murcian highlands.
