The vineyard that produces
Finca La Colina Sauvignon Blanc 2025
is located in La Seca, one of the most emblematic sites of the region. The vines, with an average age of around 45 years, are planted in alluvial soils covered with river stones, poor in organic matter but rich in magnesium and calcium, ideal conditions for obtaining grapes with great concentration. The proximity to 750 metres altitude and controlled yields help maintain the grape’s natural freshness and balanced ripeness, essential factors for the identity of this wine.
Vinos Sanz, considered the oldest winery in Rueda, has been pioneering the region’s white varieties for generations. Their approach combines tradition and technical precision, with processes such as cold pre-fermentative maceration, the selection of a cultivated must, and fermentation at low temperature, followed by 4–5 months of lees ageing through

Gold Medal at Sauvignon Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
2026, held this year in Croatia.
In addition to being the oldest winery in Rueda, Vinos Sanz is an essential name to understand the enormous development that this Castilian-Leonese denomination has experienced in recent decades. Founded in 1870 in La Seca (Valladolid), it was the first winery to unconditionally bet on verdejo, today considered one of the best white grape varieties in the world. Currently, the winery is managed by the sixth generation of the family and is in the midst of a commercial expansion process to conquer new markets.
Vinos Sanz bases its philosophy on preserving the maximum expression of the vineyard and meticulously caring for the winemaking process. In addition to verdejo, the undisputed queen of Rueda, the winery also cultivates sauvignon blanc – the second most important variety in the area – across its more than 100 hectares of vineyards, mostly located in Finca La Colina. This plot, with unbeatable conditions for grape growing, produces the raw material for two of the best white wines made in this country: Finca La Colina 100 x 100 Verdejo and Finca La Colina Sauvignon Blanc.
