General Information
Dominio de Fontana Chardonnay & Viura 2021 is a versatile coupage that successfully combines the intensity and elegance typical of the Burgundy-origin variety with the structure and freshness of one of the most widely cultivated whites in our country. Both varieties originate from a carefully selected vineyard 15 years old that Bodegas Fontana cultivates in Fuente de Pedro Naharro (Cuenca), at an altitude between 700 and 900 meters above sea level.
Under the ownership of the Cantarero brothers and led by the Master of Wine, Andreas Kubach, the Castilian-Manchegan firm Bodegas Fontana has become one of the most prominent firms of the Denominación de Origen Uclés, thanks to the practice of sustainable, personalized, and precise viticulture, both in the vineyard and in their facilities. This is demonstrated by the production of Dominio de Fontana Chardonnay & Viura, in which each of the varieties was harvested and vinified separately, including, in the case of the Chardonnay, its partial fermentation in oak barrels. After the final coupage, the wine remained on its lees for 3 months before bottling. The winery is a family project with over 30 years of history, which has earned the trust of consumers thanks to its consistent track record. Bodegas Fontana, owned by the Cantarero family, has 600 hectares of its own vineyards located between Baja Alcarria and Mancha Alta in Toledo and produces under the denominations of origin La Mancha and Uclés.
