The fifth generation of the Lurton family, linked to wine since 1897, François Lurton carries on the family legacy, standing out for his modern oenological vision. Among his diverse winemaking projects across different parts of the globe, Domaine de Nizas has stood out in the heart of Languedoc since 1998.
A property established near the medieval village of Pézenas, it spans 38 hectares of vineyards used to craft wines such as Domaine de Nizas Le Clos 2020. A red wine dominated by the syrah variety, with grenache, monastrell, and cariñena grapes contributing their unique characteristics to the blend.
After the harvest of the four varieties that make up this red wine, a cold pre-maceration takes place for five days at 12º C, followed by the traditional winemaking process in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. Once this stage is completed, the different batches undergo several pump-overs to achieve the desired tannin extraction and are finally blended into Domaine de Nizas Le Clos 2020.

In appearance, it shows a beautiful dark cherry red color, with a rim of the same tone, very well covered in layer.
Elegant and fragrant on the nose, it unfolds a complex aromatic range, blending black fruits in jam (blackberry) with mineral notes and hints from the balsamic series (eucalyptus, licorice, and menthol). Later, pleasant aromas of vanilla and a subtle background of tobacco and cocoa emerge.
On the palate, it is compact, voluminous, with a magnificent structure and noble, smooth tannins. It finishes with a long and persistent aftertaste, where pleasant spicy notes abound.
