Phillipe Foreau is at the helm of nearly 12 hectares in the Vouvray region, in the Loire Valley, where he crafts, from a selection of chenin blanc grapes, the white wine Domaine du Clos Naudin Vouvray Sec 2020. Its production begins with the practice of manual harvesting, with the aim of preserving the organoleptic qualities of the fruits and their collection at the optimal moment of ripeness.
Once at the facilities, the winery Domaine du Clos Naudin proceeds with pneumatic pressing of the grapes, and the resulting must ferments in 300-liter barrels for two months at a controlled temperature of 16ºC. Malolactic fermentation is not practiced so that the wine maintains its purity and a good tension.
The result is a splendid white wine that is direct, fresh, with good aromatic intensity and a silky texture, featuring a pleasant mineral background and good persistence. Domaine du Clos Naudin Vouvray Sec 2020 is a chenin blanc born in the AOC Vouvray that will pair wonderfully with dishes such as bouillabaisse, grilled squid, or pasta preparations in their various styles.
Pale yellow color, with golden highlights, thick tears, clean and bright.
Good intensity on the nose, dominated by aromas of citrus fruits (lime, grapefruit), fresh herbs, and hints of undergrowth, followed by notes of white flowers and a mineral background.
On the palate, it is dry, with good structure and a very silky texture. A freshness stands out that persists at all times, along with its citrus character and well-integrated acidity. Firm and direct yet smooth and flavorful, with a mineral touch and good final persistence.
