Bodegas Cyan is another project led, since 1999, by the renowned winemaker Carlos Moro, 'alma mater' of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera. In his relentless expansion to showcase the virtues of the fruits growing in the Duero basin, Bodegas Cyan stands out as one of his most personal initiatives, located in the heart of the D.O. Toro.
Here is born the red wine Cyan Pago de la Calera 2016, crafted from a privileged vineyard, cultivated with tinta de Toro vines that are nearly a century old. Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels, it is a wine that is only produced in truly exceptional vintages, due to the high standards set by Carlos Moro.
The Pago de la Calera, located in the municipality of Toro itself, is notable for its sandy-loam character, ideal for the perfect expression of the native grape variety tinta de Toro. Discover it now with this Cyan Pago de la Calera 2016 we present to you.
The entrepreneur Carlos Moro founded Matarromera (D.O. Ribera del Duero) in 1988, a winery that achieved resounding success. Following this, the formation and expansion of the Matarromera Group began, which today is one of the most important wine empires in the country. Bodega Cyan (D.O. Toro) has been part of its successful portfolio of wineries since 1999.
Cyan drives the renewal and the great qualitative leap of the wines from D.O. Toro. A winery committed to making the most of some of the best vineyards of the native Tinta de Toro grape. It has 53 hectares of vineyards cultivated along the axis of the Valdefinjas valley, in one of the most coveted areas of the region, boasting a high percentage of old vines, the most valuable ones.
Following the model of the prestigious reds from Matarromera, Bodegas Cyan began a renewal in the style of its wines in 2010. A fresh approach to achieve more harmonious and balanced reds, with less presence of oak and greater elegance, focusing on meticulous vineyard care, precision winemaking, and aging in the finest barrels. We explore some of the best wines from the winery and complete the offering with two extra virgin olive oils produced in the group’s mill.
