Cune Rueda Verdejo 2025 (Silver Medal at Mundus Vini 2026) has been crafted with the same philosophy, respectful of the vineyard it originates from, that the brand applies in its native Rioja. A must-have from the Rueda Designation of Origin, queen of the verdejo grape variety.
The white wine Cune Rueda Verdejo 2025 marked the entry of the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE)into the trendy white wine region, the D.O. Rueda, following its magnificent trajectory of over one hundred years crafting wines with all the character of Rioja.

Creators' opinion
Bright straw yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, it displays a high aromatic intensity, where white and tropical fruit intertwines with the herbal nuances of fennel, so characteristic of La Seca. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and precise, with a great sense of cleanliness. The vibrant acidity enhances its mineral character and leads to an elegant, slightly bitter, and persistent finish, reaffirming its excellent varietal typicity. A versatile and expressive wine.
The 2025 vintage in the heart of Rueda is characterized by outstanding quality and impeccable sanitary conditions, in a year marked by a slight reduction in yields that has favored greater aromatic concentration. Thanks to a slow ripening cycle and the precision of nighttime harvesting, Verdejo has achieved a masterful balance between vibrant acidity and intense notes of tropical fruit and fennel. The result is clean and elegant musts, with the characteristic mineral nuance of gravel soils and a persistence on the palate that promises one of the best aging potentials of recent years.
The Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España is one of the great symbols of the Estación de Haro neighborhood, the great capital of Rioja wine. Founded in 1879 by the brothers Raimundo and Eusebio Real de Asúa, CVNE (as it is known worldwide) can proudly claim to have remained at the top throughout its history. Ten years after its creation, the winery inaugurated an impressive barrel hall designed by the studio of Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. By 1900, it was already producing nearly 80,000 bottles, an unthinkable feat for the time. The 20th century established CVNE as an institution of Spanish wine.
Over 140 years, it has successfully combined tradition and innovation to create wines that today are the standard-bearers of Rioja reds and have garnered international critical acclaim. Its Imperial Gran Reserva 2004 made history when it was chosen as Wine of the Year 2013 by the prestigious American magazine Wine Spectator, marking the first time a Spanish wine received this recognition.
Since its foundation, CVNE has expanded its heritage and grown with avant-garde projects at different times in its history, such as the creation of Viñedos del Contino or Viña Real.
