At over 900 meters above sea level, on the slopes of the Rondeña Sierra de las Nieves, Cortijo Los Aguilares 2025 is born, a versatile young red wine made with Tempranillo grapes and a well-balanced touch of Garnacha and Syrah.

Cortijo Los Aguilares 2025 is the flagship wine of Bodega Cortijo Los Aguilares, a benchmark name in the Malaga wine scene. The native varieties tempranillo and garnacha, along with the international syrah, form this attractive coupage that achieves the purest and most refined expression of each variety thanks to meticulous winemaking, utilizing a gravity-fed system, and aging for 4 months in concrete tanks.

In the spectacular surroundings of the Sierras de Nieves and Grazalema, Bodega Cortijo Los Aguilares cultivates its 19 hectares of organically certified vineyards, which are the foundation for exceptional wines like this Cortijo Los Aguilares 2025, recommended by the Club. This is an example of respectful and manual viticulture (the harvest was carried out in small 10-kilo boxes) from one of the member wineries of the prestigious Grandes Pagos de España association.

Tasting notes

Cortijo Los Aguilares is a wine with an intense cherry color and violet rim.

On the nose, it features predominant aromas of red fruits (cherry) accompanied by a hint of herbaceous notes and balsamic nuances, the latter being a hallmark of the house's wines.

On the palate, it is fresh and unctuous, with a refreshing acidity and fine tannins.

The winery

In 1999, José Antonio Iriarte and his wife Victoria San Gil acquired an 800-hectare estate with crops of cereals, olive trees, and vines, located at an altitude of more than 900 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Serranía de Ronda. That was the origin of Bodega Cortijo Los Aguilares, a winery that is currently one of the most prominent in the D.O. Sierras de Málaga.

In this incomparable setting, with the Sierras de Nieves and Grazalema as a backdrop and benefiting from a unique microclimate, lies the 19-hectare vineyard of Bodega Cortijo Los Aguilares, where native varieties such as tempranillo are combined with foreign grape varieties that have achieved perfect adaptation, such as pinot noir, merlot, syrah, cabernet sauvignon, and petit verdot. From all of these, and with meticulous attention to detail—from organic farming in the vineyard to a winemaking process that blends technology and tradition—they craft high-quality wines that express the unique terroir from which they originate.
