Condado de Haza Crianza 2023 showcases the work of the Fernández Rivera family at their other winery in Ribera del Duero: a 100% Tempranillo with an elegant, fresh, and balanced profile.
While many reds from the D.O. Ribera del Duero aim to make an impression from the outset, Condado de Haza Crianza 2023 opts for a more serene elegance, those that are better appreciated with time. Made entirely from Tempranillo, it is aged for a minimum of 12 months in American oak barrels, a choice that rounds out its style without losing its character.
Under the umbrella of the Familia Fernández Rivera group, it is led by the Condado de Haza winery, located on a estate closely linked to the essence of Ribera. This origin is evident in a wine designed to naturally accompany the table, with a firm yet accessible profile, inviting a return to the glass without fanfare.
Condado de Haza Crianza 2023 embodies the idea of a red with its own personality: straightforward, well-structured, and with just the right calm to showcase the best of its region. A wine that does not require artifices to clearly convey its intent.
Pairing
Condado de Haza Crianza 2023 is ideal for pairing with bold-flavoured dishes with a juicy texture such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, beef cheeks, or a traditional legume and meat stew.

Condado de Haza Crianza 2023 is produced in the D.O. Ribera del Duero and draws on the expressiveness of Tempranillo, the variety that defines its profile and identity. It is a wine designed for moments of enjoyment, with its origin characterised by viticulture focused on coherence with the region of origin, where the region's continental climate imparts structure and personality. Condado de Haza Crianza 2023 thus encapsulates the essence of a red wine with a clearly recognisable origin.
The production of Condado de Haza Crianza 2023 includes a minimum ageing of 12 months in American oak casks, a step that adds complexity, integration, and a more rounded profile on the palate. This barrel ageing enhances its Crianza character and complements the fruit of Tempranillo without losing balance.
Behind Condado de Haza Crianza 2023 is the Fernández Rivera family, also responsible for Bodegas Condado de Haza, a firm closely associated with the production of distinctive reds in Ribera del Duero. Their work is understood through a philosophy centred on the origin, respect for the variety, and the pursuit of wines that clearly express their territory. This red perfectly reflects that approach to winemaking.
Condado de Haza is the second winery of the Familia Fernández Rivera in Ribera del Duero. Following the success of the parent winery (Tinto Pesquera), this family decided to expand its legacy. They found the ideal location on a hillside with poor soils and perfect orientation along the banks of the Duero River, in the municipality of Roa (Burgos), where the first vines were planted in 1987. On the same estate stands the winery, inspired by French ‘châteaux,’ with a structure designed by carving into a hill. Additionally, it features an underground bottle cellar where the wines rest in perfect conditions.
In 2008, the international prestige of the winery took a significant leap when Condado de Haza Crianza was included by Wine Spectator magazine among the 100 best wines in the world. Today, the winery has 200 hectares of vineyards, all of the tempranillo variety, the signature grape of the Familia Fernández Rivera. Its wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. It produces the brands Condado de Haza Crianza, Condado de Haza Reserva Especial, and Alenza. These are red wines with long aging in oak, earning acclaim from both national and international critics.
