Clos de Gallur 2023 is born in an exceptional enclave of the Vall dels Alforins, one of the most prestigious wine regions of the D.O. Valencia. Produced by Vicente Gandía, a century-old winery and one of the great names in Spanish wine, this premium red embodies the constant pursuit of excellence and respect for a unique territory. An internationally prestigious wine that reflects the grandeur of its origin and the track record of a leading house since 1885.

Clos de Gallur 2023 is a premium red from the D.O. Valencia, born in Vall dels Alforins from Shiraz, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. With a serious and carefully crafted personality, it comes from Finca Casa Gallur, an exceptional estate in Caudete, at 600 metres above sea level, where calcareous soils, strict drought and low rainfall naturally concentrate the grape. The maturation for 12 months in new and single-vineyard French oak barrels from Allier, followed by a further year in bottle, adds finesse, depth and a very pronounced elegance.

Behind it is Vicente Gandía, a winery founded in 1885 in Valencia and today one of the region's major references. With a modern outlook, without losing its family roots, it has managed to unite tradition, innovation and a constant pursuit of quality. And you can feel it.

Making process

Aging

Clos de Gallur 2023 unfolds a precise and elegant ageing, key to its concentrated and refined profile. After the blending of ShirazTempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine remains 12 months in new, single-vintage French oak barrels from Allier, with medium toast and air-drying for more than 48 months. Afterwards, it completes its refinement with a further year of evolution in bottle before release onto the market.

Vineyard

Description

Clos de Gallur 2023 proceeds from the Finca Casa Gallur, an exceptional estate in the Vall dels Alforins, located in Caudete at 600 metres above sea level. Its vineyards grow on calcareous soils that are very arid, under strict dry farming and a continental climate with Mediterranean influence, marked by a wide temperature range and very scant rainfall, conditions that favour an uncommon concentration in the grape. From this singular environment arises a blend of Shiraz, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, varieties that reflect the intense and precise personality of this Valencia premium red.

Climate

The Finca Casa Gallur rises in Caudete, at 600 metres above sea level, in an inland area with a continental climate influenced by the Mediterranean, marked by a strict dry spell, a wide temperature range and very low rainfall. This combination, together with its calcareous, very arid soils and its location in one of the more interior areas of the Vall dels Alforins, favours slow ripening and gives rise to wines of great concentration.

Viticulture

Clos de Gallur 2023 originates from Finca Casa Gallur, an exceptional estate of 61 hectares where Vicente Gandía commits to sustainable cultivation and distinctive viticulture. In this environment of very arid calcareous soils, a continental climate with Mediterranean influence, strict dry farming and large diurnal temperature variation, the Shiraz, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes reach an unusually high concentration, giving rise to a wine with character, balance and a very defined personality.

Tasting notes

View

Ruby red with reflections of the same colour, high intensity and a clean shine.

Nose

Clos de Gallur 2023 unfolds an intense, complex nose with great character. In the foreground highlights ripe red fruit, with a clear and juicy expression, accompanied by a delicate hint of new oak wood. In the background appear nuances that add depth and refine the whole, reinforcing the sense of elegance and the balance between freshness and concentration. The result is a very precise aromatic phase, with the personality of its grapes, Shiraz, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, perfectly blended.

Mouth

Clos de Gallur 2023 stands out on the palate for its fleshy, enveloping character, with a firm yet highly polished mouthfeel that leaves a round and elegant sensation from the first sip. Ripe red fruit integrates with delicacy into a balanced structure, while the tannin, very fine, provides body and a truly pleasant tactile expression. Its finish is exceedingly long and persistent, with a complex memory that confirms its profile as a premium red.
