General Information

Château Angélus 2015 is the result of an excellent vintage from the more than 23-hectare vineyard owned by the Boüard de Laforest family in the heart of Saint-Émilion. It reflects their commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, which over the past 30 years has turned their winery into one of the benchmarks of Bordeaux wine.

This red wine, brought to you by the Club, showcases the style of Château Angélus, characterized by its exceptional terroir and the significant contribution of cabernet franc (38%) in a blend dominated by merlot.

After a meticulous production process and 21 months of aging in French oak barrels, the result is a Premier Grand Cru Classé A wine with elegant and refined mentholated and spicy aromas, dense yet silky tannins, and a touch of freshness that gives it great balance. These qualities are complemented by its enviable longevity. In fact, this Château Angélus 2015, rated 97 points by Parker, will remain in perfect condition until 2050.

The winery

Château Angélus is a winery that has belonged to the Boüard de Laforest family since 1920, established on the right bank of the Bordeaux wine region, in the renowned commune of Saint-Émilion. Currently, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, representing the eighth generation of this lineage, leads the estate, becoming the third woman in the family to take on this responsibility.

Only four wineries achieved the highest classification of Premier Grand Cru Classé A in the 2012 Saint-Émilion wine classification, and Château Angélus was one of them. The quality of its 23.4-hectare vineyard was key to attaining this rank. Located within a natural amphitheater, where in the past the bells of the churches of Saint-Émilion could be heard calling for the Angelus prayer (hence the name), it is a unique terroir, planted with merlot, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon, producing wines that stand out for their balance, elegance, and precision.

With the pursuit of excellence as its hallmark, Château Angélus has been at the forefront of the Bordeaux region for more than three decades, thanks to an innovative vision of viticulture, reflected in the adoption of the most modern practices, from vineyard harvesting to aging, including vinification.
