Vineyard

Description

Casar de Vide Treixadura 2025 comes from 5 hectares of vineyard located in Castrelo de Miño and Cenlle, in Ourense, with vines planted between 1990 and 2000 on calcareous-siliceous soils, highly suitable for grape ripening. The vineyards are selected based on their proximity to both banks of the Miño River and their varied orientations, which allow for seeking freshness in shaded areas and more complete ripening in sunnier zones. In this Atlantic environment, the Treixadura is complemented by Albariño, Godello, and Torrontés, providing balance and nuances to a white wine with an expressive and vibrant profile.

Age

Casar de Vide Treixadura 2025 comes from both young and old vines, planted between 1990 and 2000.

Climate

The climate is distinctly Atlantic in influence. The vineyards, located near both banks of the Miño River and with different orientations, make use of the shadier areas to enhance freshness and the sunnier zones to achieve more complete ripening, resulting in a balanced and vibrant wine.

The winery

Casar de Vide is located in Castrelo de Miño, within the Ribeiro designation of origin. Since 2019, Casar de Vide has aimed to become one of the wine references of the Galician region, where excellence and quality are essential hallmarks of identity, both in the production methods and in its highly valued wines with geographical indication since 1932.The winery covers an area of 2,200 square meters and was built in 1988 from granite quarry stone next to the historic house, which was founded in 1957. Casar de Vide has successfully combined modernity, technology, and avant-garde with the classicism of a land that holds unique potential, something that has not gone unnoticed by Carlos Moro, the president of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera.
