Concentrated and pure, Can Sumoi Garnatxa Blanca 2023 is a natural high-altitude wine made by Raventós i Blanc with white garnacha vines nestled in El Montmell, at the foot of the Sierra de 'l’Home (D.O. 2012 marked the beginning of a new era for Raventós i Blanc with their departure from the D.O. Cava. This change led the Raventós family firm to embark on other projects, and Can Sumoi is one of the most interesting ones. Among the wines produced under this brand, we highlight Can Sumoi Garnatxa Blanca 2023, an intriguing natural white wine made entirely from white Garnacha vines from two estates located at altitudes of 600 and 700 meters, in the Tarragona municipality of El Montmell, at the foot of the Sierra de ‘l’Home (Bajo Penedés).
Following the foundational principles of the Can Sumoi project, for the production of the vegan wine Can Sumoi Garnatxa Blanca 2023, the firm carried out viticulture and vinification based on minimal intervention, with the utmost respect for the environment and avoiding the use of additives or sulfates. After manual harvesting, the white Garnacha grapes underwent gentle destemming and crushing in an inert atmosphere, along with low-pressure pressing. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18-20 ºC and lasted for 18 days. The result is a natural wine with a Mediterranean profile, expressing a unique terroir, that surprises with its purity and authenticity.
