Garnacha is one of the fashionable words in the wine world. It denotes a grape variety that’s been restored to its former glory and has become an object of desire for thousands of wine lovers. And it all started two decades ago with this red. We’re offering you the latest vintage: Borsao Tres Picos 2020.
Its name, ‘Tres Picos’ (meaning three peaks), is a tribute to three iconic mountains of the Moncayo range: Morca, Peña Lobera and Moncayo. Indeed, the wine is made from Garnacha grapes cultivated in the foothills of the Moncayo, at an altitude of 600 to 700 metres, from old vines between 35 and 60 years old in clay-lime, stony and loamy soils. It’s been aged for 5 months in new French oak barrels.
Bodegas Borsao is an example of the modernisation of Spanish winegrowing cooperativism, an ambassador of the modest Campo de Borja region and of one of the most important varieties in the world: Garnacha. Although it dates back to 1958, it’s now, in the 21st century, that it’s earned the recognition of the international market. Bodegas Borsao manages more than one-third of the cultivated area of the D.O. Campo de Borja, mainly Garnacha vines.
Borsao Tres Picos 2020 (D.O. Campo de Borja) is ideal with roast lamb with potatoes and vegetables.
Very deep cherry red with purplish hues. Highly concentrated aromas of ripe red fruit with floral notes in the nose. Rich, well-structured palate with flavours of blackberry, plum and hints of leather and vanilla, with sweet, silky tannins.
