The origin of González Byass lies in the Tío Pepe winery, founded in Jerez by Manuel María González in 1835 with the intention of doing business with the growing demand for Sherry wine from England. The González Byass group began to take shape in the 20th century, when the third generation of the González family decided to expand their reach beyond Jerez. Today, it consists - in addition to the original wineries in Jerez - of Bodegas Beronia in the D.O.Ca. Rioja; Viñas del Vero in the D.O. Somontano; Vilarnau in Catalonia; Finca Constancia in Toledo, Finca Moncloa in Cádiz, Pazos de Lusco in the D.O. Rías Baixas, and the Veramonte winery in Chile.
Beronia Crianza 2022 pairs perfectly with legume stews, roasted or grilled meats, Iberian cured meats, and aged cheeses.

Tasting notes
Beronia Crianza is a cherry red wine with a garnet rim.
It has a fine and aromatic nose, highlighting aromas of ripe red fruit (blueberry), sweet spices, aromatic herbs, balsamic notes, and underbrush.
Balanced, flavorful, with a lively acidity that provides freshness, sweet and aromatic on the palate. A finish with good persistence, leaving hints of pastry and spices.
Founded in 1973 by a group of hedonists who formed a gastronomic society, Bodegas Beronia has belonged to the González Byass Group since 1982. A winery with a philosophy based on combining the best of tradition and modernity. Surrounding the facilities, Beronia has its main asset: 25 hectares of its own vineyard, complemented by an additional 870 hectares of controlled vineyards that extend within a 10 km radius, with an average age of 30 years. A magnificent and abundant viticultural heritage that allows it to have quality raw materials every vintage. Significant investment in R&D, respect for the environment, and the continuous renewal of the barrel park are other key characteristics.
Beronia produces different ranges: the Classic Range, consisting of a white, a rosé, and the red wines Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva; the Varietal Range, which includes the only Reserva from Rioja made with mazuelo; the Premium Range, featuring Beronia Selección 198 Barricas, Beronia III a.C., Beronia Viñas Viejas, Crianza Edición Limitada, and the rosé Alegra; and an organic wine. Additionally, Beronia has extended its reach to the D.O. Rueda, where they produce a verdejo white wine and have 65 hectares of their own vineyards.
