Ars Collecta Paraje Calificado La Pleta 2014 is an artisanal cava originating from La Pleta, a small but excellent plot in Segrià located at an altitude of 286 meters and facing southwest, which forms one of the finest lands of the Catalan winery. Its Chardonnay vines are planted on loamy, clayey, and shallow soils and are responsible for producing an outstanding gran reserva cava with over 90 months of aging, showcasing complexity, volume, and an appealing acidity.

Ars Collecta Paraje Calificado La Pleta 2014 is a splendid cava handcrafted with the highest quality chardonnay grapes from the paraje. To prevent the oxidation of the primary aromas of the grape, it was harvested at night, in mid-August, manually. Once in the winery, the highest quality grapes are selected; these are cooled and pressed to ferment the resulting must in small tanks at a controlled temperature. After this process, another selection is made: only the musts of exceptional quality will compose the final coupage of the sensational cava La Pleta.
Ars Collecta is an innovative project by the Codorníu group, aimed at crafting magnificent cavas from exceptional vineyards in lesser-known and rich areas. They are true gems of the Alto Penedés that showcase the expertise of the Catalan winery and the mastery of its winemaker Bruno Colomer.
With fewer than 1,500 bottles, this Ars Collecta Paraje La Pleta 2014 is a sparkling wine under the D.O. Cava designation that aged slowly for more than 90 months in rima, achieving the excellence and complexity characteristic of the Ars Collecta project.
Paraje La Pleta 2014 is a gastronomic cava that pairs ideally with seafood and seasoned seafood dishes such as stews, marmitako, or bouillabaisse. It also pairs perfectly with rice dishes, braised meats, stews, and smoked dishes.

Located in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Codorníu is the oldest producer of cavas in Spain, with origins dating back five centuries. The company is the seed of one of the most important wine groups in Europe, with fifteen iconic wineries spread across Spain, Argentina, and California, as well as 3,000 hectares of owned vineyards. It is the second-largest cava producer in Spain, with an output of 45 million bottles. Until the Carlyle group acquired the majority of its shares in 2018, it was the oldest family-owned business in the country. Behind it stand 18 generations of a family of winemakers.
The modern history of Codorníu began in 1872, when Josep Raventós Fatjó, after a trip to the Champagne region, produced his first cava using three local grape varieties (macabeo, xarel.lo, and parellada) following the traditional or 'champenoise' method of double fermentation. Since then, Codorníu has been producing its cavas in a group of buildings declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument in 1976, designed in modernist style by architect Puig i Cadafalch. Codorníu exports nearly 45% of its production to almost a hundred countries worldwide.
