General Information

The meticulous selection of vineyards, located in three different climatic zones, is one of the keys that makes Ars Collecta 459 Gran Reserva Brut 2010 an inimitable cava. Created as a tribute to its 459 vintages of history, this sublime cava is crafted from the chardonnay, pinot noir, and xarel·lo grape varieties, which were hand-harvested at night to prevent oxidation of the different musts. The grapes were transported in 12 kg boxes and very gently pressed to obtain the finest must. Subsequently, each varietal was vinified separately, with the final blend being made just before bottling.

Ars Collecta is the prestige range of the Codorníu group, led by its winemaker Bruno Colomer. A project initiated in 2006, it now comprises a total of 5 wines born from three exceptional terroirs. Ars Collecta cavas are artisanally crafted, with raw materials of enviable quality selected and harvested from these unique locations, and made through meticulously measured processes to produce sparkling wines of the highest quality.

Ars Collecta 459 Gran Reserva Brut 2010 is a gastronomic sparkling wine under the D.O. Cava, pairing well with delicate and spiced dishes based on fish and meat. It also complements smoked foods, puff pastries, savory pastas, and dishes from Japanese, Chinese, or Peruvian cuisine.

Tasting notes

Its pale appearance is surprising, as it is a cava with many years of aging. Neither straw tones nor the slightest sign of oxidation are present.

On the nose, its characteristic aging notes stand out, such as brioche, bread dough, and yeasts, with hints of white flowers, almond tree, elderflower, ripe and fresh fruits.

On the palate, it presents a creamy texture, high density due to the aging time, along with great balance and vitality.
