General Information

Alter Blanco 2023 is a safe bet from the D.O. Ribeiro. Year after year, this exceptional white wine continues to accumulate distinctions for its proven quality, marked fruity character, and pleasant taste sensation. This is the case with the 2016 vintage, which won the Bacchus de Oro, the highest award given by the Unión Española de Catadores in its International Wine Competition. An accolade that this label has achieved for several consecutive years and was also complemented by the Silver Medal at the XXIV edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for the 2018 vintage.

Priorato de Razamonde, a family winery based in Cenlle (Orense), crafted Alter Blanco with the best treixadura, godello, and loureira grapes that their vineyards, spread across terraces along the Miño River, produced. After the manual selection of the fruits, they were fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine was finally aged on lees for between 3 and 6 months, resulting in an intense and expressive Ribeiro on the nose and broad on the palate.

Alter Blanco 2023 is a wine from the D.O. Ribeiro ideal for tasting alongside Galician cheeses such as San Simón or Cebreiro, but also with all kinds of fish, seafood, and rice dishes.

Tasting notes

Alter Blanco presents a bright and clean straw yellow color with greenish reflections.

Intense on the nose, expressive and fruity in character. Aromas of green apple and pineapple stand out, with notes of muscatel, honey, and acacia.

Broad and balanced on the palate, showing good structure. Pleasant final sensation of sweet fruit.

The winery

Priorato de Razamonde is a family-owned winery founded in 1998 in the town of Cenlle (Orense) by the four Pérez Pousa siblings. The name of the winery comes from its location, known as Granxa de Razamonde, an estate that once belonged to the monastery of San Martín Pinario in Santiago de Compostela.

In its early days, the family vineyard barely covered one hectare. Gradually, the winery grew and today, with its 24 hectares of vines, it is one of the most important in the D.O. Ribeiro. 90% of the vines at Priorato de Razamonde are white grape varieties such as treixadura, godello, and loureira, while the remaining 10% is divided between the red varieties sausón and godello tinto or merenzao. The replanting of these almost extinct native varieties is one of the commitments of this Galician winery, representing a sought-after return to its roots.

This traditional approach, combined with the latest winemaking techniques, using the most modern stainless steel tanks and the finest oak woods, under the enological direction of Pablo Estévez, results in four exceptional wines: Alter and Priorato de Razamonde, available in both white and red versions, which capture the essence of Galicia's oldest appellation.
