Bodegas Luis Cañas (1970) is one of the most prominent wineries in Rioja Alavesa, owned by one of the most distinguished families in Rioja winemaking and currently managed by Juan Luis Cañas. Since 2008, the company has embarked on a new venture far from its origins, in the D.O. Ribera del Duero, under the name of Dominio de Cair.
Dominio de Cair is a project born from the vineyard, as tempranillo, just like in Rioja, is also the foundation of its wines. In stunning and avant-garde facilities, equipped with the latest technology to care for the meticulously tended vineyard, the red wines of this remarkable winery are created. A brand that follows the same quality standards as Bodegas Luis Cañas: selection of the best clusters in the vineyard, meticulous monitoring of each plot to determine its harvest and the destination of the clusters, selection table at the winery, and respectful winemaking with the fruit.
Dominio de Cair has 110 hectares of owned and controlled vineyards, at an altitude exceeding 800 m, with vines spread across the municipalities of La Aguilera, Quintana del Pidio, Gumiel de Mercado, and Moradillo de Roa (D.O. Ribera del Duero).
