Bodegas Hacienda Monasterio

Hacienda Monasterio is one of the most prominent wineries in Ribera del Duero since its foundation in the early nineties. It is also known for being the winery that brought Peter Sisseck, the creator of Pingus, to Spain. The Dane continues to work at the winery and craft its wines, in this case alongside local winemaker Carlos de la Fuente.

The estate where the winery is located, halfway between Pesquera and Valbuena de Duero, belonged at the end of the century to the Lecanda family, who at that time owned Vega Sicilia. The key to Hacienda Monasterio's success is the quality of its vineyard, which has now reached sufficient maturity to provide the winery with exceptional raw material to produce wines of the highest quality.
