Adegas Galegas

Adegas Galegas

Located in Meder (Pontevedra), Adegas Galegas was a pioneering winery in developing revolutionary concepts in Rías Baixas, such as the production of white wines in contact with wood or maceration with carbonic snow. With its white wine Veigadares, it demonstrated that proper oak handling enhanced the virtues of classic albariños, adding complexity and personality.

Founded in the mid-1990s by Pepe Rodríguez, it operates in O Rosal and O Condado, two subzones of the D.O. Rías Baixas. It has a total of 53 hectares of vineyards, both owned and leased, and 47 oak barrels, as well as a 2,500-liter vat. Since 2012, Adegas Galegas has been part of Bodegas Martín Códax.
