Description of their own wines
"Our wines are characterized by the utmost respect for their origin: the Ygay estate; their varieties, the age of the vineyard, the type of soil, the altitude, and the local and annual climate. Our goal is to cultivate high-quality grapes with great potential in our own vineyards, from which we produce three reserva wines and, in exceptional years, our Gran Reserva with a distinctive hallmark of elegance. These are wines that honor a well-established style without giving up the innovative spirit that defines us."
Professional career

María Vargas has played an intense and vital role in the complete renewal of all the brands of the century-old firm Marqués de Murrieta. Her incorporation into Marqués de Murrieta began during the harvest of the 1995 vintage. During the early years, her responsibility was partial, and it was from May 2000 onwards that she took on the technical direction of the winery. In 2005, María Vargas also assumed the technical direction of the Galician winery owned by the Creixell family: Pazo de Barrantes, located in the heart of the Salnés Valley, in the D.O. Rías Baixas.

She received the award for best winemaker in the world at the Women in Wine & Spirits Awards 2021, held in China.
