Description of their own wines
The wine is not a basic necessity; it is an option. As such, it must be crafted to ensure the pleasure and enjoyment of the consumer. Wines should be pleasant and fun, easy to drink, and also honest regarding their origin and variety/varieties, so they can be recognized and distinguished. That is what we strive for, and that is what I aim to achieve.
Professional career

Named Best Winemaker of Galicia by the Gallaecia Association of Sommeliers in 2007, Álvaro Bueno began his journey in the world of Galician wine under the mentorship of great winemakers of the time such as José Vicente Guillen Ruiz and Federico Ponce. Since then, he has been part of the tasting committees of four of the five Denominations of Origin in Galicia (Ribeiro, Ribeira Sacra, Monterrei, and Valdeorras) and also owns his own oenological laboratory and consultancy, Catavinos, of which he has been a founding partner since 1995.

The wines crafted under his signature have been recognized in multiple national and international competitions, in addition to being proclaimed as the Best Wines of Galicia on numerous occasions in the Official Tasting of the Xunta, where more than 300 references are presented each year. Currently, he advises prestigious wineries in four Galician Denominations of Origin. Recently, he joined Adegas Valmiñor and Ébano Viñedos y Bodegas, where he has arrived to create outstanding wines in Rías Baixas and Ribera del Duero as well.
