Langhe

Located in the province of Cuneo, Langhe is one of the Denominazione di Origine Controllata (D.O.C.) within the winemaking region of Piemonte (Piedmont), one of Italy's great production areas. Included in this designation are some of the country's most renowned wines made from native grapes such as the red nebbiolo and barbera or the white arneis.
Climate
The climate of the entire Piemonte area is characterized by the cold influence of the Alps and the warmth of the nearby Mediterranean Sea. This duality results in very hot and dry summers, cold and humid winters, and warm and dry summers, ideal for vine cultivation.
Soil
Alkaline and calcareous. A large part of the vineyards are located on hills and steep slopes.
