Prieto Picudo

It is easily distinguished by its tight cluster and berries shaped like pine nuts with a bluish-black skin. The aromatic intensity of the variety is high, producing wines with aromas of forest fruits, strawberries, hints of blue flowers, and broad and persistent on the palate (thanks to its high natural acidity and good alcohol content). In Castilla y León, an exclusive wine of the province is produced, a semi-sparkling wine made using the "madreo" method, which involves inducing a slow second fermentation (achieved by adding whole grapes of the variety to the musts) and gives a spicy character to the carbon dioxide without becoming sparkling. These are fresh, effervescent wines with sharp aromas and a creamy, lively palate.
