Beaune

The A.O.C. Beaune encompasses the subregion of Côte de Beaune, one of the five major vineyard areas of French Burgundy, located in the Côte-d'Or. With over 411 hectares planted, the predominant varieties are chardonnay and pinot noir, used to produce 85% red wine and 15% white wine, amounting to nearly 2.1 million bottles per year.

In Beaune, there are 42 climats classified as Premier Cru, representing more than three-quarters of the total surface area of the A.O.C. In addition to being a significant production area, Beaune is considered the nerve center of Burgundy's wine business, as most of the major négociants have their headquarters in the city.
