With such illustrious neighbours as the Tempos Vega Sicilia group and winemaker Mariano García, the area around San Román de Hornija has become synonymous with outstanding wines. This area is home to Bodega Elías Mora and the 12 hectares of old vineyards that Victoria Benavides works with, thanks to her friendship with local winegrower Elías Mora (hence the name of the winery). We are honoured to be the first to offer you Viñas Elías Mora 2023, the youngest wine from this key firm, a red with predominant fruity notes enhanced by nuances from barrel ageing (6 months).

Run by winemaker Victoria Benavides, Bodega Elías Mora boasts some of the most desirable Tinta de Toro vineyards in the D.O. Toro. Viñas Elías Mora 2023 is the firm's youngest wine. It’s made from 100% Tinta de Toro grapes, the region’s star variety, grown in vineyards with sandy-loam soils. It’s been aged for a short period of 6 months in American oak barrels.
Founded at the turn of the century by the Dos Victorias company, Bodega Elías Mora is currently run by one of the most dynamic women in the Spanish wine sector, Victoria Benavides, to whom Toro wine owes the utmost respect. The firm is named after the former owner of the vineyard that supplies this modern winery: planted with gobelet-trained vines belonging to the native Tinta de Toro variety with low yields to maximise the quality of the grapes.
The winery is located in San Román de Hornija, one of the most coveted areas of the D.O. Toro and is supplied by 12 hectares of old vines.
The red wine Viña Elías Mora 2023 (D.O. Toro) is ideal with grilled red tuna or stewed pork cheeks.
Deep crimson colour with violet rim.
Aromas of wild blackberry, violet and liquorice, tinged with vanilla and roasted coffee.
On the palate, excellent balance between fruit and oak.
Bodegas Elías Mora was founded in the year 2000 by the company Dos Victorias and is currently led by one of the most dynamic women in the national wine sector, Victoria Benavides. The winery takes its name from the former owner of the vineyard that supplies this modern winery, vineyards of the native tinta de Toro planted in bush vines and subjected to low yields in pursuit of the highest quality clusters.
Elías Mora is located in San Román de Hornija, a municipality where Bodegas y Viñedos Pintia (Vega Sicilia) and Maurodos (Mariano García), two of the most prestigious wineries of the D.O. Toro, also own vineyards. It is a perfect place for vine cultivation thanks to the scarcity of rainfall, the altitude, and the poor, limestone-rich soils with abundant gravel on the surface. The winery, modern, functional, and perfectly equipped, is located next to the vineyards to facilitate the entire winemaking process, from reception to aging.
