A place that speaks of the hillsides of the Bierzo region
The high slopes of El Bierzo, where old vines sink their roots into clay, limestone and decomposed slate soils, are home to Viña La Recuperada 2023, a red wine that embodies the identity of a unique place. The 2023 vintage, marked by an early harvest, has an exceptional freshness and elegance that you can sense from the very first sip. This red will captivate you with its finesse, mineral notes and ability to convey the character of a truly unique estate.
A wine that reveals the greatness of El Bierzo in the expression of pure, fine flavours deeply linked to its origins.
Viña La Recuperada 2023 is the most delicate and precise interpretation of a historic estate in El Bierzo: Valdetruchas. It comes from vineyards more than 60 years old, planted on south-facing slopes between 700 and 900 metres above sea level, which bring out all the flavours of the Mencía variety. The 2023 vintage, marked by an early harvest, is notable for its freshness, balance and elegance, which come across in every glass.
The Luna Beberide winery, run by Alejandro Luna Beberide, is one of the key names in the revival and consolidation of the Vinos de Paraje (single-estate wines) category in the region. Its philosophy is clear: to let the variety and the soil speak for themselves, without artifice, allowing each estate to express its authentic character. Its work over the past decades has helped make El Bierzo one of the most interesting areas on the Spanish wine map, thanks to wines that combine tradition, precision and a profound respect for the vineyard.
Twelve months in French oak barrels have given it depth without sacrificing its freshness, allowing the Mencía grape to express its full personality. Overall, Viña La Recuperada 2023 is a wine that will captivate you with its purity and its ability to convey the character of a unique place. Ideal with small game, roasted white meats, traditional stews or semi-cured cheeses, it's also a great choice for anyone looking for wines with a heart and soul and good length. Its outstanding scores – 94 points from Parker – confirm what’s already apparent in the glass: this is one of the great reds of El Bierzo, a real gem that deserves a prominent place in any wine cupboard.

Founded in 1988, Bodegas Luna Beberide stands as a spearhead of the D.O. Bierzo and is distinguished by adhering to the principle of total respect for the ‘terroir,’ with minimally interventionist winemaking aimed at preserving the identity of the magnificent vineyards of Bierzo.
The winery is led by Alejandro Luna, son of the founder Bernardo Luna, and was a pioneer in the production of high-quality mencías. Furthermore, this winery can boast of having had the advice and friendship of the brilliant winemaker Mariano García, who has left his mark on the winemaking process.
Situated between Cacabelos and Villafranca del Bierzo, Luna Beberide restored an old 13th-century farmhouse on the Valdetruchas estate, where it gathers a significant part of its old vineyards and hosts tastings, events, and meetings with clients and visitors.
The Valdetruchas Estate embodies the essence of the winery's vineyards. In total, 50 hectares of vines are distributed across south-facing slopes, steeper in the higher parts, where the old vineyard takes root in slate soils with clay-limestone contributions, growing at altitudes ranging from 450 to 1,000 meters.
