Viña Real Rosado 2025 stands out for its refined aesthetic and its Burgundian profile, bright and delicate. Produced in Rioja Alavesa, from a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha, it is a fresh, elegant and very expressive rosé, to be enjoyed without hurry.

Viña Real Rosado 2025 represents a fresh and elegant take on Rosé Rioja, built from a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha. It is a rosé with personality, designed to convey lightness without losing character, and with that touch of subtlety that has made Viña Real recognisable.

The winemaking relies on gravity bleeding, without mechanical pressing, after a few hours of maceration, to extract a clean and expressive must. It then ferments at low temperature, a patient process that aims to preserve the primary aromas and the fruit as much as possible.

Viña Real is one of CVNE's most distinctive bets in Rioja Alavesa. It originated in Laguardia, on the Cerro de la Mesa, surrounded by clayey and calcareous soils, and its facilities combine tradition and contemporary design. The winery, conceived by Philippe Mazières, neatly encapsulates its philosophy: wines with a clear identity, close to the terroir, and with a style meticulously cared for down to the last detail. Such as Viña Real Rosado 2025.

Making process

Winemaking

In the winery, the elaboration starts with a blending (mixture) of Tempranillo and Garnacha, with a brief maceration of the fruit in the tank to extract the right tone and expression. Afterwards, a gravity drain is carried out, without mechanical pressing, and the must begins a slow fermentation at low temperature in tanks, a process designed to preserve the primary aromas and keep varietal freshness intact.

Description

Viña Real Rosado 2025 is born in selected plots of Rioja Alavesa, around Elciego and Laguardia, on clay-limestone soils located on the Cerro de la Mesa, at between 425 and 500 metres above sea level. The combination of these terraces, together with the exposure of the area and the Rioja climate, favours balanced ripening and a fresh, precise expression. It is made with Tempranillo and Garnacha, varieties that contribute a fruity profile, delicacy and liveliness to a Rioja-style rosé with a refined character.

Tasting notes

View

Pale pink colour, bright and very luminous, with coppery iridescences that enhance its refinement and give it a delicate and elegant appearance.

Nose

Elegant and delicate nose, with a complex and well-defined profile. Highlights notes of fresh red fruit, with pomegranate, cherries and red blueberries, which provide liveliness and precision. Next come citrus hints of pink grapefruit, which reinforce its freshness. In the background, subtle floral echoes are perceived, completing a fine, luminous and balanced aromatic phase.

Mouth

On the palate, it comes across as clearly fruity, with a juicy start and an unctuous mouthfeel that coats the palate softly. Its excellent acidity provides freshness and lengthens the finish, leaving a persistent, clean aftertaste where the flavours of fresh red fruit reappear.

Behind Viña Real stands one of the most solid names in the Rioja wine scene with significant international projection: CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España). The renowned French architect on the global stage, Philippe Mazières, was the person chosen by its leaders to capture the aesthetics of this century-old winemaking house in the new Viña Real winery, established in Laguardia (Rioja Alavesa). Its philosophy was to seek a unique style that respected the winery's hallmarks, with a subtler character, evoking a more “Burgundian” profile in this new initiative.

CVNE (Haro, Rioja Alta) first launched the Viña Real brand on the market in 1920; however, at the end of the 20th century, it conceived the idea of creating a dedicated winery for this range and chose the subzone of Rioja Alavesa for this new project. Thus, the history of the Viña Real winery is relatively short: its facilities were inaugurated in 2004.

Viña Real combines tradition and modernity in its spectacular facilities made of concrete, wood, and stainless steel. This new building stands out visually for the enormous vat that dominates its structure, a space dedicated to winemaking. Next to it, two tunnels have been carved into the rock of Cerro de la Mesa (Rioja Alavesa), where the winery is located, designed for the aging of wines: one for barrels and another for bottles.
