CVNE, founded in Haro in 1879, is one of Spain's most historic wineries. Despite its century-old legacy, it maintains a young and dynamic spirit, as demonstrated by its expansion beyond Rioja, with a presence in various wine regions across the country. From its venture into Castilian lands comes Viña Lobera Verdejo Ecológico 2024, a vibrant white wine born from a careful selection of old vineyards, hand-harvested to preserve the highest quality of the grapes. An organic Verdejo with a suggestive aromatic profile, featuring notes of tropical fruits and citrus. On the palate, it stands out for its freshness and approachability.

General Information

Viña Lobera Verdejo Ecológico 2024 is a wine made with Verdejo variety grapes, selected from old vineyards cultivated under organic practices. The harvest was carried out manually during the coolest hours of the day, thus preserving the organoleptic qualities of the fruit. The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures.

The Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) is an institution in the international wine sector. A benchmark far beyond our borders, it proudly showcases the full potential of Rioja wines. In fact, it was one of the first companies dedicated to bottling and exporting wine in Spain. Today, it is a winery group that includes several brands, all sharing the same philosophy: crafting outstanding wines.

Víctor Urrutia, CEO and fifth generation of the founding family, mentioned in a recent tasting that CVNE aspires to be the most important winery in Spain. “Our goal is to make the best wine in every village where we are present. To have the best vineyards in the best locations, and for our wines to express the identity of the vineyard.”

The white wine Viña Lobera Verdejo Ecológico 2024 (V.T. Castilla y León) is ideal to pair with a vegetable medley or free-range chicken rice.

The Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España is one of the great symbols of the Estación de Haro neighborhood, the great capital of Rioja wine. Founded in 1879 by the brothers Raimundo and Eusebio Real de Asúa, CVNE (as it is known worldwide) can proudly claim to have remained at the top throughout its history. Ten years after its creation, the winery inaugurated an impressive barrel hall designed by the studio of Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. By 1900, it was already producing nearly 80,000 bottles, an unthinkable feat for the time. The 20th century established CVNE as an institution of Spanish wine.

Over 140 years, it has successfully combined tradition and innovation to create wines that today are the standard-bearers of Rioja reds and have garnered international critical acclaim. Its Imperial Gran Reserva 2004 made history when it was chosen as Wine of the Year 2013 by the prestigious American magazine Wine Spectator, marking the first time a Spanish wine received this recognition.

Since its foundation, CVNE has expanded its heritage and grown with avant-garde projects at different times in its history, such as the creation of Viñedos del Contino or Viña Real.
