Via Terra Selection 2024 is crafted from Garnacha Tinta vines planted on terraces, with well-drained soils and low yields, in the Plana de Gandesa, the heart of the D.O. Terra Alta. It undergoes two distinct vinifications: the first involves cold maceration, aiming to preserve the fruity character; and the second, more traditional, with ripe grapes, which adds structure and complexity to the blend. A 6-month aging process in French oak further refines a red wine that is smooth on the palate, with soft tannins and fruity flavors, rounded off with pleasant spicy notes.

Via Terra Selection 2024 is a wine made from vines located in the Plana de Gandesa, on elevated terraces with well-drained 'tapàs' soils, featuring a loamy texture with a clay base. The mild Mediterranean climate, with gentle temperatures and scarce rainfall, ensures balanced ripening. The vines are up to 20 years old and are cultivated organically. The variety used in its production is 100% Garnacha Tinta, which provides intense red fruit, smoothness, and a Mediterranean character.

The harvest is carried out manually in 15 kg boxes, which are refrigerated for 48 hours to preserve freshness. Two vinifications are performed: a cold maceration to enhance fruitiness and a more traditional one with ripe grapes to add structure. The wine is aged for 4 to 8 months in French oak barrels of 300 to 500 liters, ranging from fourth to sixth use.

Founded in 2003 by Joan Àngel Lliberia, the winery Edetària is located in Gandesa (Tarragona), in the heart of Terra Alta. The estate works exclusively with its own vineyards, many of which are old, and is committed to organic and sustainable viticulture. Its philosophy focuses on expressing the character of the terroir and reviving native varieties such as Garnacha Blanca and Garnacha Peluda. Via Terra Selection is their entry-level wine, ideal for discovering the soul of Terra Alta.

Via Terra Selection 2024 is a red wine perfect for pairing with Galician-style octopus, stews, fava beans and peas with black sausage, goat kid, and grilled vegetables. Its fruity and spicy profile makes it highly versatile at the table.

Edetària
Winery

Currently, the wines of Edetària top the lists of the main wine guides in this country (in fact, they are the highest-rated wines of the D.O. Terra Alta according to the Peñín Guide) due to the great originality of their production and the winemaking expertise of one of the greatest connoisseurs of the white garnacha variety, Josep Serra.
