General information
La Poda Garnacha 2021 comes from Garnacha vineyards located in Rioja Oriental. This is the easternmost subzone of the Denominación, with a greater Mediterranean influence, a warmer and drier climate, and soils formed by sedimentation and the drying out of old river areas, ideal conditions for the Garnacha grape.
The vines, which are 30 years old, are located in the foothills of Laguardia, between the Sierra de Cantabria and the Ebro. The grapes were harvested by hand and underwent fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and cold maceration.
Bodegas Palacio was founded by Cosme Palacio in 1894 in Laguardia. Throughout its history it has successfully combined tradition and innovation, and today it remains at the top of the quality ladder with well-known labels such as Cosme Palacio and Glorioso.
In 2018, Almudena Albercabecame the first Spanish woman to become a Master of Wine, the most coveted title in the world of wine. This achievement and her skilled hand at the helm of the Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos group, which owns such prestigious wineries as Viña Mayor and Bodegas Palacio, make her one of the most important Spanish winemakers with the most international outlook.
La Poda Garnacha 2021 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) is a very versatile wine, which is perfect with a wide range of dishes and even with appetisers without a meal. We especially like it with beef casserole, roast lamb and stews.
Creators’ opinion
"Bright ruby-red. Aromas of red and black fruit combined with floral notes and touches of red fruits. Pleasant and easy to drink. Full-flavoured and balanced on the palate. "
