Torelló Rosa d`Abril 2023 is an exceptional young, fresh, and aromatic rosé made with the best grapes from a coupage of macabeo, syrah, and malvasía varieties from a vineyard settled on clay-limestone soils of the Can Martí estate, located in the municipality of Gelides, in the Alto Penedés. The label is decorated with roses, intending to honor their presence in the vineyards to alert viticulturists of the existence of fungi on the vines. This rosé has great sensory purity, with hints of freshly picked red fruit and is very sweet.

Torelló Rosa d'Abril 2023 is a fantastic rosé wine made from a blend of macabeo, syrah, and malvasía varieties sourced from a vineyard owned and cultivated at the Can Martí estate, in the D.O. Penedès.
The modern history of Bodega Torelló Viticultors began in 1951, when Francesc Torello i Casanovas started producing still and sparkling wines for bottling. Since then, and with great effort, the winery has continued working to remain a benchmark in the D.O. Penedès. Currently, the winery has this 135-hectare estate, where different native and foreign varieties of the highest quality are cultivated organically. Among the white grapes, macabeo, xarel·lo, parellada, chardonnay, and subirat parent varieties are grown. In the red grape varieties, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot noir, and syrah are cultivated.
Within the D.O. Penedès, Torelló Rosa d'Abril 2023 is produced by harvesting the grapes on the same day and pressing them together, as the three varieties share an almost identical vegetative cycle. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to preserve the varietal and fermentative aromas. Thanks to this, we obtain a rosé bursting with aromas that perfectly accompanies all kinds of appetizers, lightly cooked fish such as sushi, seafood, smoked salmon, rice, and pasta.
Rosa d'Abril is a pale pink wine with amber hues, clean and bright.
On the nose, it is delicate, persistent, and sweet, with slight hints reminiscent of freshly picked red fruit, lychee, and mango, on a floral background.
The entry on the palate is gentle, fresh, and dry. Just like in the olfactory part, it is fresh and balanced, with good acidity. Long, pleasant, and elegant finish.
The family history begins in the year 1395 at the Can Martí estate and its farmhouses. And it will be 22 generations later, in the year 1951, when the surname Torelló appears, one of the reference families in the cava sector in our country.
The Can Martí estate is the nerve center of Torelló's vineyards and cellars, located in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, considered by all as the heart and capital of cava.
The Can Martí estate covers 135 hectares in the fertile Penedès region. It cultivates white grape varieties such as macabeo, xarel·lo, parellada, chardonnay, and subirat parent, as well as red grape varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot noir, and syrah.
For the production of cavas, Torelló selects only vines over 30 years old. This is done to ensure consistency and quality in the harvest.
The soils have a clay-limestone mix and are poor in organic matter. Pruning is done short to control vineyard yield and grape quality. As for the climate, it is typically Mediterranean, with an average temperature of 16 ºC and rainfall concentrated in spring and autumn.
For less than a decade, the Torelló winery has begun a process of converting its vineyards to organic viticulture, but in truth, they have been practicing environmentally friendly methods for many more years.
