The renowned winery La Spinetta is responsible for La Spinetta Barbaresco Gallina 2020, a magnificent red wine that represents the warmest, most elegant, and velvety profile of the noble Italian nebbiolo grape.
Established since 1977 in Castagnole delle Lanze, in the heart of the Italian Piedmont region, the Rivetti family’s winery cultivates its 100 hectares of vineyards in this area following the principles of biodynamic agriculture. Specifically, the nebbiolo vines, aged between 50 and 56 years, which are the origin of La Spinetta Barbaresco Gallina, are carefully tended, maintaining extremely low yields, and avoiding the use of chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides. All of this is aimed at achieving the best and purest raw material possible to craft a wine that reflects the essence of a unique terroir.
In the winery, the production of these high-quality grapes culminated in 20-22 months of aging in new French oak barrels, followed by an additional 3 months in stainless steel tanks and 12 more months of bottle aging before being released to the market. La Spinetta Barbaresco Gallina 2020 stands out for its excellent aging potential, ranging from 25-35 years from its harvest. An excellent choice to pair with grilled meats and game dishes.
Of a dense red color.
In the olfactory phase, aromas of red fruits (currants) and black fruits, mocha, exotic Asian spices, and flowers predominate.
On the palate, an intense flavor of those ripe fruits detected on the nose (currant, plum, blueberry) with notes of tobacco and coffee. Long and elegant finish with mature and velvety tannins that will soften over the years.
