Este tempranillo originates from old bush vines at the foot of the Cantabria Mountains and is hand-harvested. Its production is completed with a 24-month maturation exclusively in French oak barrels.
Bodegas Sonsierra was founded in 1962 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, when a group of viticulturists decided to pool their vineyards to realise their dream of creating a great winery in Rioja Alta. Thus, this firm began as a cooperative and today still maintains its associative character. It crafts wines from its own vineyards, an exceptional estate comprising 500 hectares of vines inherited from generation to generation and located in the surroundings of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, the most exclusive area of Rioja, where Tempranillo achieves a high quality.Tempranillo reaches a high level of quality.

Cherry red colour with garnet tones, well covered.
Nose
Intense, complex and refined on the nose, it reveals aromas of red fruit, minerals, alongside a pleasant notes of bonbons, coconut and balsamic hints; noble woods.
Mouth
In the mouth it is savoury, with good structure and breadth, fresh, fruity and with excellent balance; the tannin is fine and the finish is long and persistent.
Located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Bodegas Sonsierra produces wines exclusively from its own vineyard, 100% within the same village. Bodegas Sonsierra boasts a long history of crafting high-end wines. The winery was established in 1962 through the initiative of a group of local winegrowers who decided to pool their vineyards to fulfill their dream: to create a great winery in Rioja Alta. Thus, it began as a farmers' cooperative and to this day retains its associative character. Sonsierra wines are origin, landscape, history, and tradition.
In February 2022, Bodegas Sonsierra was awarded the title of ‘Cooperative of the Year’ in the ‘Rioja 2022 Special Report’ by the renowned British critic Tim Atkin MW.
