General Information

Sincronía Negre 2022 is the latest vintage of one of the surprising reds that are part of the interesting collection of wines from Bodega Mesquida Mora.

The winery, founded in 2012, in the Mallorcan town of Porreres, is the personal project of the young winemaker Bárbara Mesquida Mora, a member of a family linked to the vine and wine for four generations.

Tradition and the practice of biodynamic and environmentally friendly viticulture are the starting point of all creations from Bodega Mesquida Mora. Embraced by the D.O. Mallorca, the production of Sincronía Negre 2022 involved the use of local varieties callet and manto negro, and foreign ones cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and syrah. Each of the five varieties was vinified separately and after blending, the resulting red wine remained for 4 months in French and American oak barrels for aging.

Tasting notes

In appearance, Sincronía Negre exhibits a bright and vivid cherry red color.

Nose dominated by aromas of forest fruits and red plums, with a pleasant spicy touch.

On the palate, it is fresh, light, and persistent.

The winery

Bodega Mesquida Mora is a young Mallorcan winery born from the passion for wine of philologist and winemaker Bárbara Mesquida Mora. Although it was founded in 2012, the winery, based in the town of Porreres, is the heir to an important family winemaking tradition that dates back to 1945. It was in that year when her grandfather, a modest farmer cultivating apricots and vineyards on his small lands, decided to start producing his own wine due to the low prices he received for selling his grapes.

Bárbara's father inherited the company, which, under the name Jaume Mesquida, gained great prominence on the island, being a pioneer in introducing foreign varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and syrah. Between 2004 and 2012, the young winemaker worked intensively in the family business until she decided to venture out on her own.

Mesquida Mora builds its project on respecting the family wine heritage of its founder and owner, starting with the choice of the winery's name, taken from her paternal and maternal surnames, and on 20 hectares of biodynamic vineyard. A significant part of this vineyard is made up of old vines over 40 years of age of those foreign varieties, while the rest consists of native varieties such as prensal, giró (or garnacha), callet, and manto negro. With all these, the winery produces wines under the protected geographical indication of V.T. Mallorca, aiming to express their full potential: three reds, two whites, and two rosés that stand out for their vibrancy and truly appealing authenticity.
