Only 966 bottles were filled of the exclusive red wine made from mencía, Sangarida El Morredero 2021. A wine crafted from grapes of the esteemed native variety, sourced from a single plot within the Paraje de Val de Paxariñas, in the municipality of Cacabelos in El Bierzo. These goblet-trained vines, planted in 1999 under an ecological philosophy, are rooted in loamy-clay soils on 5% slopes, at an altitude of 600 m. After 12 months of aging in semi-new French oak barrels, Attis Bodega y Viñedos achieved a very special mencía, full of finesse and delicacy, harmonious, balanced, and complex. A true discovery.

Creators' opinion

The winery

In the heart of the Salnés Valley, specifically in the municipality of Meaño, lies Attis Bodega y Viñedos, a family-owned winery that produces authentic, artisanal, and Atlantic wines.

All the winery's creations are made from native varieties of the D.O. Rías Baixas, crafted with the utmost care and respect for the environment and the vines, from cultivation to vinification, including the harvest. The production is entirely artisanal, resulting in wines with a distinct Atlantic character and high salinity, a hallmark of this subzone of the Salnés Valley.
