Born from a vineyard over 50 years old, Sangarida Mencía 2024 is the perfect wine for everyday enjoyment. Fruity and spicy, this young and easy-drinking red highlights the uniqueness of this variety.

Sangarida Mencía 2024 is a single-varietal wine made from a native red grape variety of El Bierzo, which accounts for more than 75% of the vineyards planted in the region. The characteristics of the Mencía grape from El Bierzo are ideal for producing wines without oak aging, like this Sangarida Mencía, vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged on fine lees for 3 months. This process preserves the red fruit and spicy aromas that are so typical of wines from this area.

Sangarida is the project of Attis Bodega y Viñedos within the Bierzo Designation of Origin. Originally from Galicia, the Fariña brothers found in this region—a crossroads between Castilla, Asturias, and Galicia—the perfect place to start this unique venture. Respect for the land and the expression of the grape, combined with a fresh and eye-catching image, make this young project one of the most promising in the D.O. Bierzo. Try now their magnificent single-varietal red wine, Sangarida Mencía 2024.

The winery

In the heart of the Salnés Valley, specifically in the municipality of Meaño, lies Attis Bodega y Viñedos, a family-owned winery that produces authentic, artisanal, and Atlantic wines.

All the winery's creations are made from native varieties of the D.O. Rías Baixas, crafted with the utmost care and respect for the environment and the vines, from cultivation to vinification, including the harvest. The production is entirely artisanal, resulting in wines with a distinct Atlantic character and high salinity, a hallmark of this subzone of the Salnés Valley.
